Where did your inspiration come from? Why did you decide to publish it now?
The inspiration came from my own past, which was difficult; I was depressed and not everything is fine now… March the 6th was the day I broke down, the day I lost my way around. I wrote the rap nearly a year ago and I thought I could put it online at the beginning of the year, as a sort of new start, new resolution but also a way of giving perspective to reality.
-
What’s rap for you? Why do you do it?
For me, rap is a way of expression myself and of showing that, even if the situations may vary, you’re not alone, no matter how bad things are. I really like rap and I’m only interested in doing what I like; that’s why I do rap.
-
You only uploaded one track – do you plan on uploading more in the future?
I’m currently working on three new tracks. Two will be similar to the first one but the last one will be quite different.
-
If you had to sum up in a couple of words your rap music, what would it be?
I’d say it’s something powerful, but in a touching way. For those who know me it’s probably something unexpected since I’m not someone that expresses himself in public that much. But this rap is really what I feel, what I think.
-
Do you have models, references, rappeurs or other artists that inspire you?
Eminem inspires me because of his tough past. 2Pac for the same reasons and also because of his wise reflections on reality. I also listen to MZ and KeBlack because it’s where the music’s at today, but I wouldn’t say that they are really inspirational sources – I listen to them more just for fun. There’s “conscious” rap, like Eminem’s that really inspires me, and “heavy” rap, like MZ which is more of a pastime.
